Write in an Easy to Understand Style

Many bloggers often have to make decisions what kind of language are they going to use. People often like to use little known, pretentious words, which they just learned. Generally speaking, I believe this is because writers often believe that using complicated expressions and hard to understand words will make them look more educated. I do not think that that is the case in many situations. Personally, when it comes to blogging, I try to keep my language simple, because I want my visitors to understand what I am writing about. Visitors to blog are from different countries, include people of different ages, and of various education level. My suggestion is that if you want your blog to be accessible to a large audience, then try to use more simple terms that everyone will understand. My using simple language you can extend your demographics to a few types of visitors:

  • Visitors from many different countries where English is not their first language. After all, Internet is available in every country in the world.
  • Less educated visitors. Not everyone has a degree and might have problems understanding rarely used words.
  • Even children might start visiting your blog. There are certain niches that would appeal to children, but you will not attract them if you are going to use hard to understand terms.
