The Blogosphere is Growing
It is hard to estimate exactly when first blogs were created, but one could estimate that it was around March 2003. Even from the beginning, the number of blogs was growing pretty fast and currently there are over 100 million blogs. Of course, many of them might be abandoned, but the number of blogs is still impressive. The current growth rate is still very fast and there are no signs that blogs will cease to exist. Blogs are so popular for at least two reasons:
-There are more and more Internet users in the world. This means that among those who decide to create a home page, some will choose to create it in a blog format.
- Blogs allow people to see the most recent updates to the site very easily. Obviously, I am talking about posts. In a case of static webpages, it is hard to say what was updated recently. Seeing the most recent changes to the website is especially useful for regular readers. They do not want to look for new posts for a long time, but instead they want them to be accessible when they visit the website.
