I know that many of you have Microsoft Word installed on your PC and use it on a regular basis. Word is a very useful program, but there are also some other similar programs. It is completely fine if you wish not to purchase or install Word on your PC. You do not have to. What you can do instead is find on the Internet an online text editor. There are many online sites that allow you to use text editors that are similar to Word to edit your documents. Most of them even allow you to store them online, and that will not be a problem as long as your Internet connection is fast enough. If you store them online, you will be able to access your files from any place in the world from any computer that has access to the Internet. This is probably a good solution for people who travel a lot and have access to the Internet at all times. Storing your documents online will also mean that you will not have to worry about CDs and floppy disks. There will be no need to save your documents to such storage devices, because all of them are stored on an online server. Of course, having a backup copy is important if the data is valuable, so do not forget about that. I was quite surprised by all of the features offered by online text editors, and I believe they will grow in popularity in the upcoming years.
