Link exchanges are a very good idea to make your blog more popular. I know of webmasters who participated in many link exchanges themselves, and think that participating in them can be quite beneficial. Some of them participated in Technorati favorites exchanges, which means that they were favoring each other, and because of this they Technorati ranking improved considerably. That is why I encourage my readers to participate in similar projects as well. Usually, anyone can participate if he is signed up with Technorati or with a similar service. All you have to do is to have a blog, and your blog should not be full of spam, or copyrighted material. You can also get quite a lot of traffic from Technorati link/favorites exchanges.

Often there are two ways you can participate. You can either also agree for a Technorati favorite exchange, or you can decide to participate in the Technorati Link & favorite exchange. If you are only going to take part in the Technorati favorite exchange, all you usually have to do is simply favorite the original poster, and leave a comment with a request for him to favorite you. On the other hand, if you are interested in the Technorati link & favorite exchange, you should create a post on your blog with a link to the original post, and the list of links to other blogs who are also participating. Leave a comment, and wait for the blogger to favorite your blog and post a link to your post. This way the link to your blog is going to be posted on many, many websites, as people are going to be copying the links to their blogs. Pretty clever, is it not?
