Protecting Yourself From Internet Scams
It is true that the best way to protect yourself against any type of Internet scams is not to disclose any information about yourself. However, very often you have to disclose some information. If you would not decide to disclose any information, then you would not take an advantage of what the Internet has to offer. To avoid any danger you can stop visiting websites that you do not know. You can spend all of your time only surfing a few trusted websites. This way you can avoid avoid scams, but why would you want to do that?
What you have to remember as an Internet user is to stay alert at all times and be aware of the fact that there might be scammers wanting to steal your identity. Always be careful and check if a page where you insert your password or other sensitive data has a valid page address. Delete all the emails that look suspicious and those that ask you about your details. Some emails might state: “You have 48 hours to reopen your Paypal account”. In most cases such emails are scams. In case of doubt you can always call the office of such a company in order to verify whether there is any problem with your account. Very often it will not be a real email from Paypal. I recommend that you always stay alert.
