A lot has been said recently in the blogosphere about building dialogue. However, the question is what does this really mean? The most important part of building dialogue is encouraging visitors to comment. You want your visitors to comment on a regular basis, because the more they get involved in your blog, the better it is for you. Generally speaking, you want to have a conversational style of writing. Of course, if you do not have a lot of traffic yet, do not be alarmed if visitors do not leave many comments. On the other hand, try promoting your blog a lot more. Basically, if you have many visitors you want them to have a habit of commenting. There are at least a few reasons for this:

• Some argue that blogs differ from regular websites, because it is a lot easier to build a community around a blog. Many believe that not taking advantage out of this opportunity is a mistake.
• Encouraging visitors to comment will result in having more traffic coming to your site. Your website will feel more friendly, which will further boost the number of your visitors. I try to make this blog friendly, and I hope that my readers appreciate that.

We live in times when most people have access to the Internet. Not only we want to have access to the Internet wherever we are, but we also want to make sure that we have the best Internet connection possible. Many people who choose carefully their Internet connection are serious about saving money, so they might appreciate a good deal. It is important to understand what the differences are between various types of Internet services:

-ADSL is the most popular type of Internet connection that broadband users use. Overall, this connection has usually decent speed and is reliable. You will need to have a phone line if you want this type of Internet connection. In case you are wondering, you can connect to the Internet and use your phone simultaneously with this type of connection.
-SDSL is similar to ADSL but there are some differences. First of all, it requires a dedicated phone line. Secondly, it offers lower download speeds, but higher upload speeds.
-Cable Internet is another popular type of Internet connection that allows high download speeds. It is usually provided by a cable operator, which might offer discounts for cable TV customers. Overall, cable Internet might offer the highest download speeds. However, because it is a so-called ‘shared technology’, the download speeds are going to decrease when many people use their cable connection in one neighborhood.
-Satellite Internet is a good choice for those who live in remote areas where neither DSL nor cable is available.
-Mobile Internet is usually expensive and is often used as a back-up.

According to “Small Publishers, Artists & Writers Network” for your book to be successful it needs to contain at least a few elements. Here is a list of them:

• A timely or timeless subject that is interesting. I think that most bloggers have a subject of their blog, which is interesting, at least to a specific audience.
• A descriptive and attention-getting title. In case of blogs I would apply this to the title of posts. Titles of posts are extremely important.
• Well-written and edited, and easy to read. Most bloggers strive to have well-written and edited posts, but probably many of us do not double check spelling errors. Sometimes we make other mistakes. There is always room for improvement in this area.
• Written by a professional, expert, or good researcher. Not of all us are experts; however, bloggers are very good at learning new things.
• Attractive and professional presentation. Do you use images in your posts? Images can add a lot when it comes to presentation.
• Well promoted and marketed. The last element deals with marketing and maybe this is even the most important one.

Releasing your blog as a book, would be a great way to market your blog.

Every blogger who has been blogging for some time has probably committed some mistakes. However, it is a lot easier to avoid mistakes if you know what things you should try to avoid. Here are some common blogging mistakes that many bloggers make:

Giving up to early is probably the number one mistake. Blogs take time to take off and a blogger should not expect to see results too early. Do not give up too early only because you think your blog is not successful. I order for your blog to become popular you will have to be patient and allow at least a few months to pass. You might regret it later if you decide to give up too early.

Writing about a topic you have no interest in. You should be passionate about the topic you choose to blog about. Before setting up your blog you should spend a lot of time analyzing which topic would be the best for you to focus on. Sometimes you may decide to set up a blog about two separate topics. Nonetheless, it is important that whatever you write about, you should have interest in.

Some bloggers believe that not blogging on your own domain is a mistake, because otherwise you do not have complete control over your own blog. If you intend blogging for a long time, then it is easier to set up your blog on your own domain straight from the beginning. Otherwise, it might be difficult for you to move your blog.

Irregular posting can be another mistake. You do not have to post on the same days each week, but try to post on a regular basis. You need to make your visitors know what you are serious about blogging and that whenever they will visit your blog there will be a big chance that something new will be posted. You will have a lot more visitors coming to your blog if they will know that there is a lot of valuable content on it.

There are a lot of writers that not only like to write a lot, but additionally have blogs dedicated to money making techniques. There are some interesting posts about making money that are posted all over the Internet. It would take a long time to read all of them, so for your convenience I decided to summarize it in a lot less words. Basically, it is about techniques that people use to make money online. And this is in short how they do it:

-They join a network like b5media that has a base pay and a certain dollar amount per page views. B5media was founded by Darren Rowse.
-They build an authority website and look for ways to monetize it.
-They write a book once the blog is established and use their blog to promote it.
-They create a product and sell it on their site. There are a lot of products that can be sold this way.
-They use ads like AdSense, Chitika, WidgetBucks. It is important that ads should be targeted.
-They use e-commerce. Selling goods for women and babies are the best source of income.
-They become freelance writers.
-They have a few websites appealing to different people.
-They subscribe to TTZ media if their blog is about technology.
-They offer services.
-They have a site about something very specific like iPods. This will ensure very targeted traffic.
-They participate in paid surveys. However, watch out for scams.
-They participate in referral programs. Depending on what you refer, you can make a lot of money.
-They found sites like Blogrush or one dollar/euro Wiki.
-They rewrite an eBook and add their own content into it.

Many people ask whether it is possible for a person with a day job to be fully committed to blogging. Are you wondering whether it is easy to schedule time to blog on a regular basis? It is true that people have many commitments such as work and family. However, it is possible to blog on a regular basis even if you feel that you lack time. There are a few things you should take into account:

Make sure to set boundaries. Do not work on your blog the whole day, but rather try to write articles at the same hour each day. This way you are not going to neglect other responsibilities.

Whenever you have time for blogging, make sure that you write a few posts. You can schedule them to be automatically posted over the next few days. It might be a good idea to write even a few posts on a day when you have more time.

You should gradually increase time invested into blogging. This way blogging will not encroach upon other aspects of your life. Set boundaries and stick to them.

Even if you have a day job it is still possible for you to be committed to blogging. You do not give up, because having a blog is a very enjoyable experience.

Hosting your blog on Blogger.com, WordPress.com, or any other free platform might be a good option for you if you are new to blogging. That is especially the case if you do not know yet for how long you will want to be blogging. You will notice that hosting a blog on a hosted blog platform has some cons. If you plan to be a professional blogger, you will want to take the following arguments into account.

Free blogs are usually less configurable and have some design limitations. Some say that you will never achieve as much as you can achieve on your own domain name. You will also discover that as a blogger you have less control over your blog if it is free. You never know when your blog is going to be down. If something does not work, you cannot call customer support.

The thing some bloggers do not like about hosted blogging platforms such as Blogger.com or WordPress.com is the generic URL they are assigned when they create a blog. Yourname.blogspot.com does not look nearly as professional as yourname.com. Having your own domain name can give you a sense of control over your blog. If you ever change your mind and decide that you no longer want a free blog, but rather a blog on a paid domain, then you might have problems transferring it to a different domain. Very often you might be forced to delete your existing blog and start a new one on your own domain. You will also have to think of ways to encourage your regular readers to start visiting your new blog.

When I want to choose the right Web hosting provider, I usually take into account a few things. One of the most important things that matter to me is a professional customer service. If something goes wrong, I want to have an option to contact my Web hosting service provider immediately. Thanks to their live chat, it is always possible to contact my Web hosting provider at any time. My blog was down once or twice. I contacted my provider and it was back almost immediately. I appreciate what my provider is doing and I am going to stick to this company for some time. I know that many webmasters and blogger look for cheap Web hosting. With so many Web hosting providers on the market, it is no wonder that webmasters want to have webhosting at competitive prices. Sometimes it might not be easy to compare the offers of a few companies to find one that is the best. Usually, finding the perfect webhosting takes time. If you would like to find your perfect webhosting provider, I suggest that you take as much time as you need to make the best decision. Do not make any hasty steps and decisions. They might cost you plenty of money.
