You are also going to receive direct traffic, especially if your articles are going to get many votes. The links which appear on the front page of Digg can get over fifty thousand unique visits per day, especially if they manage to stay on the homepage for a sufficient amount of time. Another reason to use social bookmarking services is to receive high quality backlinks. Since Digg and other social bookmarking networks are ranked very highly in Google, then receiving links from such sites will definitely make your blog ranked higher as well.
